LWVKKC to host forum for Tennessee State House candidates


To enable voters to hear the candidates respond to questions about important issues in the Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, General Election, the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox Co. is sponsoring a candidate forum with its partners on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 6:30 p.m.


Who:      All candidates for the Tennessee State House Districts 14, 15, 16, 18, 19, 89, and 90 have been invited


What:     Forum


When:     Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, 6:30-8:00 p.m.


Where:    Annoor Academy of Knoxville, 724 Foxvue Rd. SW, Knoxville, TN 37922


    Parking is available at the venue


Early voting runs from Wednesday, Oct. 19, to Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022.


The following organizations are partnering with the LWVKKC in this forum: the American Muslim Advisory Council, East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists, Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy UTK, Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Knoxville Area Urban League, Knoxville Branch of the NAACP, Knoxville News Sentinel, and YWCA of Knoxville and the TN Valley.


LWVKKC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that encourages informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of major public policy issues. Candidate forums sponsored by the League honor the League's longstanding nonpartisan practices to ensure trust, respect, and fairness to all who participate. We use a standard set of guidelines for candidates, moderators, volunteers, and the audience.
