LWVKKC to host forum for Knox Co. Commission candidates July 7

To enable voters to hear the candidates respond to questions about important issues in the Thursday, August 4, Regular Election, the League of Women Voters of Knoxville/Knox Co. is sponsoring a candidate forum in partnership with American Muslim Advisory Council, East Tennessee Society of Professional Journalists, Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy UTK, Knoxville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Knoxville Area Urban League, Knoxville Branch of the NAACP, YWCA of Knoxville and the TN Valley.


Early voting will take place July 15-30, 2022, and election day is Thursday, August 4, 2022.


Who:     Candidates for Knox County Commission, which include:


Gina Oster (R, District 3)


Stuart Hohl (D, District 3)


Rhonda Lee (R, District. 7)


Larsen Jay (R, At-Large, Seat 10)


Dylan Earley (D, At-Large, Seat 10)


Kim Frazier (R, At-Large, Seat 11)


Vivian Underwood Shipe (At-Large, Seat 11)


Donald Bridges (I, At-Large, Seat 11)


 


When:     Thursday, July 7, 2022, 6:30-8:00 p.m.


Where:  YWCA Phyllis Wheatley Center, 124 South Cruze Street, Knoxville, Tennessee, 37915   


Parking is available adjacent to the Center, on the street, or in the parking lot of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 2137 Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue.  All candidates have been invited to this event.


Early voting will take place July 15-30, 2022, and election day is Thursday, August 4, 2022.


 


LWVKKC is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that encourages informed and active participation in government and works to increase understanding of major public policy issues.  Candidate forums sponsored by the League honor the League's longstanding nonpartisan practices to ensure trust, respect, and fairness to all who participate. We use a standard set of guidelines for candidates, moderators, volunteers, and the audience.
