Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center Earns Top Safety Grade

Hospital is Nationally Recognized with an 'A' Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade

Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center received an "A" Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. This national distinction celebrates Fort Sanders Regional's achievements in patient safety.

"It is an honor to receive LeapFrog's 'A' Hospital Safety Grade – it reflects the hard work our physicians and staff put in every day to safeguard our patients," said Keith Altshuler, president and chief administrative officer. "This designation is the latest nod to Fort Sanders Regional's legacy of more than 100 years of safe, compassionate care for all our patients."

The Leapfrog Group, an independent national watchdog organization, assigns letter grades to general hospitals throughout the United States based on a hospital's ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients. The grading system is peer-reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public. Hospital Safety Grade results are based on more than 30 national performance measures and are updated each fall and spring.
