Hello everyone,

I'm a fairly easy to get along with type of fellow with a lot of practical IT work experience with small to medium sized IT shops at various companies in the #Knoxville TN area...

As long as the language is kept civil and we don't get a lot spammer posts, you'll get along fine here... violations of the user agreement may get you banished rather suddenly.

Be sure and place your "pin" on my Member Map section, its easy set it and forget it stuff around here mostly..

After getting out of the Marines in 1982, I used my VA Educational GI Bill benefit to go to school originally studying Mechanical Engineering Drafting, but during one of my courses for that we got to get some hands-on with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) on the old AppleIIe's and it caused me to switch over to Computer Science... which led to a 25+ year career in business financials and shop floor data processing programming on the IBM© iSeries/AS400 DBA2/Sequel platform in RPG & COBOL languages... now that I'm retired I attempt to supplement my meager fixed income dabbling in this SMF© PHP/MySQL/HTML online realm... nerd? maybe, but its fun for me, love this stuff...

As previously mentioned elsewhere in these boards I'm experimenting with incorporating Wordpress into an SMF powered site, this is not producing the results I'd previously anticipated, I'm finding that keeping my Wordpress site updated with the latest version of Wordpress is a bit more problematic than I like. You see why I have been working with SMF for so many years? In my opinion SMF is far more superior a platform than Wordpress.
