Mayor Jacobs: First Phase of Knox County Water Trail Completed

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs is congratulating Parks and Recreation for completing the first of five phases of the Knox County Water Trail Initiative, which included the area from Powell Landing to Roy Arthur Storm Water Park.

The Knox County Water Trail is a 44-mile stretch of navigable water being cleared and cleaned to connect five communities between Clayton Park in Halls and Melton Hill in Hardin Valley.

Two new signs along the Water Trail will be unveiled at the 6th Annual Beaver Creek Flotilla this weekend.

"This is a big project," said Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs. "It's a unique attraction for our community and really showcases the variety of recreational opportunities available to residents and visitors alike."

The Beaver Creek Water Trail Initiative has helped mitigate flooding issues, improved water quality, and established Beaver Creek as a recreation destination.
