Knox County to Host Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat

The Knox County Parks and Recreation Department will host its 2nd annual Fall Festival and Trunk-or-Treat this Saturday, Oct. 29, at Tommy Schumpert Park, 6400 Fountain City Road.

This free community event gives families the opportunity to vote on the best trunk display as they wind the spook trail gathering candy, visit the vendor market of local crafters, pick a pumpkin out of the patch to take and paint on site, and parade through the park in their best costume.

Residents and visitors can enjoy hayrides and explore recreational opportunities available in Knox County including disc golf, kayaking, youth and adult athletics, with interactive nostalgic field games on-site. Additionally, B97.5 will broadcast live from the park. The event kicks off at 1 p.m. and wraps up at 4 p.m.

"Knox County has an incredible park system," said Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs. "This event is a great example of just how much parks enhance our community and bring people together."

Despite the rainy weather, roughly 1,500 people attended the Halloween and Fall Festival events in previous years.
