Golf Course Renovations Lead to Chance to Win $20,000

~ from Knox County

As part of the grand-reopening of the Beverly Park Par 3 Golf Course, Knox County Parks & Recreation will host a Hole-in-One Tournament with a prize of $20,000 on Friday, October 7 at 2:30 p.m. Qualifiers for the tournament were Closest-to-the-Hole in a September competition.

The Beverly Park Par 3 Golf Course is an 18-hole course made possible by multiple partnerships including the Tennessee Golf Foundation and now, the University of Tennessee, Department of Plant Sciences, Turfgrass Management Program.

The University of Tennessee Turfgrass Management Program utilizes the Beverly Park course for research and practicum experience by completing greens renovations. To highlight the partnership and success of the facility upgrades, the Knox County Parks and Recreation Golf team are hosting a series of events including a Hole-in-One Tournament.

"Each park facility offers a unique recreational opportunity," says Senior Director of Parks and Recreation Joe Mack. "With a Kids Play Free program, this course is a hub for beginning golfers, and now aspiring professionals looking to gain hands-on experience in facility management."

Knox County Parks & Recreation operates Three Ridges Golf Course and two Par-3 short courses at Concord Park and Beverly Park. Each course offers a variety of programs for all play levels including PGA golf instruction, tournament play, and participation in The First Tee program.

Beverly Park Par-3 Golf Course is located at 5311 Beverly Park Circle.
