From Superintendent Bob Thomas

Dear Knox County families,

In light of the latest developments related to the continued spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Knox County Schools will be closed on Friday, March 13, 2020. Additionally, the district will suspend all out-of-state, school-sponsored and business-related travel indefinitely.

We know some families might be traveling during the Spring Break. We want to remind everyone to take standard health precautions, including wash your hands; avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth; use a tissue when you sneeze or cough; and clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

We are continuing to clean and disinfect our facilities, and we will intensify our efforts over the break when students and staff are out of the building.

Thank you for your help in maintaining a healthy school environment. We will continue to monitor the situation, and if there any changes in the district's calendar, we will notify you.

Hope you have a wonderful, restful and safe Spring Break!
