Manhunt underway for suspects involved in Cincinnati bar shooting

Police are searching for two suspects in connection to a bar shooting in Cincinnati that left nine people wounded. According to reports, shots were fired in the Over-the-Rhine neighborhood early Sunday morning by at least two shooters who fled the scene after police fired back. During a press conference Sunday, Lt. Colonel Mike John said that the victims are eight men and one woman between the ages of 23 and 47.

"This has no place in our city, period," Mayor Pureval said. "The gun violence we are seeing in our communities cannot and will not persist. We will continue to work hard to prevent gun violence in the future."

Two officers assigned to the Civil Disturbance Response Team and saw an individual shooting south of that intersection on Main Street. CPD said one of those CDRT officer's, Joe Shook discharged one round from their gun at that individual. CPD said the individual fled east toward Sycamore Street.

"I am calling for personal accountability in this city," Councilmember Scotty Johnson voiced. "We want everybody to have a good time and enjoy our city. We want everybody to come downtown and have a good time, but personal accountability has to trump these ridiculous, outlandish, beefs that are going on in our city."

I just spoke with an employee of Mr.Pitiful's who said they were working the door. He said all of a sudden "all hell broke loose." One officer reportedly fired one shot at the suspect as he was running away from the scene, although it is unclear if the suspect was struck.

"We have one Cincinnati police officer that discharged one round, and we do not know if that officer struck the individual that he was firing the gun at," Cincinnati Police Department Assistant Chief John said. "What I can tell you is the individual he was shooting at was actively firing a firearm at that time."

Police said all victims are expected to make a full recovery as an investigation is ongoing.
