In his first public appearance since his resignation, former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo expressed his feelings on the fallout of his sexual misconduct allegations.

At a local church on Sunday, Cuomo accused his political opponents of exploiting the situation for their own political purposes. Back in August, Cuomo resigned after thirteen people came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against him.

"However, the truth is also that contrary to what my political opponents would have had you believe, nothing I did violated the law or the regulation," Cuomo asserted. "I said from the start that I would defend any allegation anyone wanted to bring, but the political sharks in Albany smelled blood. And when the sharks smell blood, then they come and they exploited the situation for their political purpose."

The former governor went on further to say the investigation conducted into his sexual misconduct allegations was an act of prosecutorial misconduct. Cuomo claimed the investigators were after his job and used cancel culture to achieve their goal.

"The actions against me were prosecutorial misconduct that is clear," he stated. "They didn't act in the interest of justice. The district attorneys proved that. They acted in their own self-interest. They wanted me out because they wanted my job. We know that was their motivation by their own actions, but they actually used the cancel culture mentality to enable and advance their self-serving political scheme.

This public appearance comes after he aired several ads defending himself from the allegations, which hints at a possible re-emergence in the public eye.
