UPDATED 1:24 PM PT – Thursday, May 12, 2022

A manhunt is underway for a suspect who shot three women in a Dallas, Texas hair salon.

According to police, an unidentified gunman entered the Korean owned Hair World salon. He proceeded to yell and then began shooting before fleeing the scene. Three women inside the salon were shot and reportedly hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.

" He entered the business and then began shooting multiple rounds," said Dallas Police Department Sgt. Warren Mitchell. "Victims were transported to an area hospital."

According to Dallas PD, they have not yet determined a clear motive though their are speculations of a hate crime.

"We are not ruling it out, but right now I don't want to relate it to unless I'm for sure," Sgt. Mitchell stated. "At this time, we do not believe that this is a hate crime related incident, but again we are still in the early stages of the investigation."

Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage to learn more about the gunman who witnesses described as a black man. The FBI will continue to assist with the ongoing investigation.
